75% specular diffusion and 25% bass absorption. ASC Engineering
Department wanted a basic “building block” for architects
and interior designers concerned about the acoustic properties of
their designs. The modular 12” x 12” size opens up nearly
unlimited possibilities for use on walls and ceilings.
Use CoolTraps to backscatter and absorb reflected
sound that can cause excessive reverberance, slap echo, etc.

Great The CoolTrap provides specular (softly scattered)
treble diffusion from 250 Hz to 4 kHz, which gives smooth vocal
range absorption. The cavity is filled with acoustic grade open
cell foam, and is open on two sides to allow sound entry. This is
an ideal product for modern looking acoustics that blend in with
existing décor, perfect for Great Rooms, Home Theaters, Conference
Rooms, Lobbies and even Recording Studios.
CoolTraps are installed on any solid surface using
adhesive glue.
For an additional cost, a removable
system is available. This system uses a centered anchor point that
allows 360 degree rotation, and push-on, pull-off ease of use. The
CoolTrap is covered with 100% recycled Guilford of Maine 701 fabric.
