Architectural
Acoustics - ASC Coffered Ceiling System
When
it comes to noise control, the ASC Coffered Ceiling
is an acoustic solution for any space. The Coffered Ceiling provides
a great acoustical solution for homes, offices, boardrooms, restaurants
and other large spaces.
The ASC Coffered
Ceiling system can change a problematic space into a comfortable
setting, appropriate for conversation and music, without overly
deadening the space.
By
using an open grid pattern of sound absorbing panels, locally reflected
sound remains bright and lively while sounds reflected from across
the room are reduced.
The result is an attractive way to maintain a natural
sounding room while providing a lower noise level.
The ASC Coffered Ceiling System incorporates an
array of linear sound absorbing panels that connect at sound absorbing
junctions. All of the panels and junctions have architectural bevels
for a distinctive look that will easily fit into any decor.
The
layout of the Coffered Ceiling System remains flexible to adapt
to any type of ceiling and its fixtures. Shown to the right is a
stately art center with our Coffered Ceiling installed. The system
is easy to install in new construction or as a retrofit for sheetrock
or plaster ceilings.
ASC's
Coffered Ceiling is featured in the March '07 issue of The Trowel
Magazine.
"Sound grids, like the coffered
ceiling system, look good and sound great. The grid pattern is adjusted
to fit between HVAC, lighting, sprinklers, security and sound and
ends up looking like the whole ceiling was architect designed as
one integrated system. Installation is easy with acoustic tile adhesive.
And the cost fits right in to the room acoustic budget line."
Alternative
Design (new!)
ASC has developed this new easier to
install version that also costs less than the standard version.
This version eliminates the large "junction boxes", and
works just as well. From an architectural standpoint, this design
flows and lends itself to more ceiling applications.
Lighting and speaker integration
As
an option, we can produce the coffered ceiling with a grooved back
and custom junction boxes to accommodate wiring, lighting, speakers
or other electronic equipment. The images below show the coffered
ceiling fitted with speakers in the junction boxes.
This
option allows the wiring and lighting to be hidden from view while
maintaining the integrity of the ceiling itself.
With a standard linear panel spacing of 5' and a
low-profile overhead design, the open grid pattern will not clutter
the ceiling or the perceived lower ceiling height.
The
Coffered Ceiling System comes in a variety of fabric colors, styles
and patterns providing the best visual and acoustic performance
specifically designed for your space.
