Senior Fabricator

Working hours: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm

General Summary: Light production, similar to furniture or cabinet building. We design and make acoustic interiors for churches, home theaters, recording studios and even restaurants and we ship all over the country. About half our work is on standard products and the other half are short run, complicated and beautiful custom projects.

Familiarity with hand and table top power tools and proven mechanical aptitude is essential. College graduate with cabinet/custom wood shop experience preferred.

We are a short run custom/production shop, which means we need someone who understands the production steps and can build the necessary jigs and fixture before the run starts.  Shop management background is OK, but what we're really after are the work skills and habits that influence, empower and motivate others. We need regular attendance from a full-time, pace-setting team player who will teach and train others how to work, how to use equipment the way it was made to work, and do it safely. We also have a walk-in paint booth for limited spray lacquer; ideal applicant would also know paint booth procedures, spray paint, clean up and gun maintenance. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Uses table saws, band saws, drill presses, router, shaper, chop saw, panel saw, radial arm, belt sander and other small wood shop production tools and equipment.
• Develops and utilizes production model for building product.
• Builds parts and sets up jigs and fixtures for temporary production line.
• Fabric finishing department, covering product with fabric.
• Familiar with set up, maintenance and proper use of woodworking equipment

• Previous wood shop experience.
• Drafting Visio or CAD experience a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and use standard measuring devices.
• Must be self-motivated with a mindset for production line setups and running with minimal inventory buildup.
• Knowledge of and experience with continuous flow production methods - not with tending automated production lines.
• Ability to think clearly and work safely and efficiently.
• Must be open to suggestions and redirection.
• Interest in being part of a team and trying new ideas to improve efficiency.
• Brainstorming and thinking abilities are required.
• Must pass drug screen.
• Regular attendance mandatory
